There is a Limit

I actually got a timely email response back from my follow up question (the first response took 18 days, the follow up only took 1):

As you've read in our Picture Posting FAQ and mentioned in your previous email, users are allowed to fill up to 300 MB of server space with images.

Here's the fun part. You don't know how much of the 300 MB you're using. And there's no way to reclaim any of the space (at least not at the current time). No biggie. If you hit the limit, create another blogger account and upload there and then link to those pictures from your original blog.

That's a pretty big though. The nice thing about blogger is you don't need to do much to maintain a web page.

They might raise the limit by the time you're about to fill it. It would be nice though if they added a file manager so you can delete and add files, rename them, etc. It'd be really nice if they support an FTP service to do it!

Yea, the low maintenance is nice. And the implication I got from my first email to them was that they’re looking to add file maintenance. I don’t know whether that will include FTP access (but it probably won’t happen, since that would let you bypass their special software to shrink pictures to what they believe to be a reasonable size).

Plus, if they grant you FTP access, that means you could put stuff there that isn't pictures. And I'm sure they're at least partially concerned about providing storage space for potentially copyrighted material (which is why I believe the new googlepages only gives you 100 MB, since that's smaller than a current half hour TV show).
