New Fish

Today we went to the fish store and bought some fish for Quinn's 10 gallon aquarium that he got for his birthday. Both kids were really excited about getting the fish. After steering both kids away from the more aggressive fish (they both gravitated to the more aggressive cichlids), we were able to steer them back to the more passive tanks. Quinn picked out a couple sailfin mollies while Catherine picked out a couple of red and blue dwarf gourami. Oh yeah, and we grabbed a clown pleco while were there. I don't think the tank has much algae growing yet, but eventually it might. And rather than buying a sunken ship or castle, the kids pick out some large rocks for the bottom (a couple different pieces of quartz I believe). Yep, that's right, we paid for rocks. The only reason my head didn't completely explode was Nana was up and she's the one that bought everything since this was her gift to Quinn.

Just don't put them in a cold, out-of-the-way place in the house where you won't notice of the fuse blows and you discover them floating up-side down with a layer of ice across the top of the tank.

Not that James ever had that happen...
