Van Dyck Park

So it appears that the coldest day we've had in the past month has been the one day we had the Fall Festival. Today was fantastic. Mid 70s if you can believe that (and if you live in the area, I suspect you don't have a lot of trouble believing it). So we just had to do something to get the kids out of the house (especially since Quinn's been couped up for a while and is feeling much better now). So we went to Van Dyck park over in Fairfax that the kids have been to once or twice. The big attraction at that park is "the digger." I kept hearing about all the way there, about how you can dig in the sand with it and it's like a real construction digger.

Once we got to the park, it took a couple of passes through the parking lot to find a space. The place was completely packed. I guess with the nice weather we weren't the only ones that had the idea of going to the park. We were at the park for a while and everything was going pretty good until right as we were about to leave. At that point Catherine fell off the Merry-Go-Round. Normally that wouldn't be a big deal, but this Merry-Go-Round had what amounted to a moat of some really nasty standing water around it. So she got really really wet and dirty. Luckily we had a change of clothes for her in the car. We noticed that had it been Quinn, he would have either been out of luck or would have had to wear Catherine's change of clothes. Guess we need to remember to restock a change of clothes for both of them in the car at some point.

On the way home we stopped at a big screen TV store to get some info on what's the best current HD technology for what we would like to get. I'm kind of glad we didn't buy something back at the beginning of the year, the prices seem to have dropped almost 30-40% from what we were looking at back then.
