Free Tickets

So Quinn is in Richmond today out at the race track watching the time trials (for the Nextel race Saturday night) and the Busch series race. Funny story, you may remember yesterday how I mentioned they went by Office Depot to see Carl Edwards and the '99' car. Well, it turns out they entered a drawing while they were there and won tickets to the actual Nextel race. So Quinn will be staying in Richmond for an extra day to attend that. I wonder if as part of the winning package he gets to go 'backstage' to the pits and see the drivers up close or anything. Anyway, free Nextel tickets, so you can't really complain about that (the Nextel race tickets are apparently pretty expensive).

Meanwhile back at the ranch, Catherine has been getting doted on to compensate for Quinn going to Richmond. This means Ginger took her by the toy store and bought her yet another toy (a princess Lego thing). Because there's nothing like walking through the house at night in the dark with little Lego scattered across the floor acting like mini land mines.

I tried getting some shots of Catherine during dinner (mental note, don't take pictures of child directly in front of a shiny reflective surface like a window when using the flash). She was hamming it up for the camera. The cloth and button thing on her head is something that she sewed in class today.

And for tonight's unrelated picture, since it was raining tonight I tried getting some shots of the rain. Most of the shots looked weird. Long exposures ended up making the ground look like a sheet of glass. While short shots didn't have enough light and were completely dark. And don't even think about using the flash, because things would get frozen and ended up looking extremely awkward. This shot was an a combination of the above, about a 1 second shutter with the flash used but pointed backwards and diffused. It's not a great shot, but I kind of like it.

For some reason, seeing the rain picture makes me have to pee.

What's not to like about the rain shot. Love that. Keep experimenting!
