Ailing, Ill, Indisposed, Peaked, Run-down, Unwell

As you may gather from the subject, both kids are still sick. Once again there will be no school for them tomorrow. I'm hoping by the time they get well they suddenly don't decide they don't like school anymore. Quinn was pretty bad off this morning when he woke up. It took a while to get him to take his Motrin, but once he did and it kicked in (about 10 minutes after he took it) he perked right up and seemed much more responsive. Both kids did pretty well eating all things considered. I can't remember, is it "Starve a fever and feed a cold," or "Starve a cold, feed a fever". I can never remember and always mix those up. Why couldn't they have made it rhyme. I mean in college who didn't have the following memorized: "Beer before liquor, never sicker. Liquor before beer, never fear." It's simple and it rhymes. I mean, not that I had much use for that saying. Really. Nope. Not me. [mental note: think before you write this stuff] Anyway, Quinn's temperature is still pretty high (102 and that was with Motrin in him), so we may end up calling the doctor's office tomorrow since he will have had this fever going on 3 days now. Catherine has a fever also, but isn't as high as Quinn. Catherine's fever is only around 100 (she's such a slacker). And as you can tell from her photo, it doesn't seem to be affecting her too much.

And now for the TV update. Tonight was "CSI" (can I just say "Ewww"), "Without a Trace" and "Smallvile." Tonight's "Fresh" episode of Smallville was easily one the weakest shows of this season. They didn't even have a money shot tonight. And I hear the new Aquaman television pilot that's going to be following the adventures of a young Arthur Curry has been tentatively titled "Mercy Bay". Seriously, what are the executives thinking. The reason Smallville works at all is because it's become so ingrained in the mythos and culture. Does anyone know where Aquaman grew up? Before I mentioned his name did anyone even know he went by the moniker "Arthur Curry"? Did anyone even care? I mean if you had to choose one of the Big 7 heroes to come to your aid, who's going to pick Aquaman. Maybe if there was a goldfish at a crime scene that witnessed a murder, but really, that's a fairly small niche.

You watch Entourage on HBO. The joke of the whole season was that the star (playing an upcoming star) was selected to play Aquaman in the big budget, James Cameron directed Aquaman movie.

The suit design was hysterical!

That explains the sudden desire to try and use the name recognition then.

But I still think basing a show around a young Aquaman is going to be a disaster. I keep having these really bad visions of a cheesy show that resembles Baywatch. But then again, even though I never watched Baywatch, obviously some people did.
