Easter Eggstravaganza

A week into April and I wake up to snow on the ground. Normally that would be the setup for an April Fool's joke, but not today. The picture above was taken just after 10 AM, so a lot of the snow had already melted at that point.

And despite it being only about 40 degrees outside, the church still had the Easter Eggstravaganza today. The crowds were significantly less than they were last year (probably due to the temperature outside being almost freezing).

This year Quinn was in the five to eight category instead of the four and under. So he had to compete against some bigger kids this year during the egg hunt. He still did pretty good overall. We missed the first four and under egg hunt, so we had to stick around till later when they did that age group again so Catherine could have a chance also. While we were waiting on Catherine's egg hunt, Quinn went out and used the moon bounce. Last year there was a long line for it, but this year there was no line, and he stayed in it for about twenty minutes.

It was easier taking pictures of Catherine during the egg hunt since she doesn't move as fast as Quinn and I was able to get in front of her. Since she's at the high end of the age category for her group she was able to get a lot of eggs. It's funny watching the kids, they're so anxious to get to the next area where there are eggs they run past lots of eggs on the ground.

After Catherine's egg hunt Ginger and I were ready to go home, but the kids decided this would be a really good time to visit the police car, see the Easter Bunny and play all the games. So Ginger and I suffered through the cold a bit longer while the kids went off and did their thing. We had tried to get them to play the games between the time for their egg hunts, but at that time they had no interest. Once we told them we were going home, they couldn't get to the games and stuff fast enough.

Later when they finished the games I thought for sure we were going to get to leave, but no, at that point they decided they wanted to go on the pony rides.
