Minor Victories On The Food Front

Another Saturday where we have big plans for what we're going to accomplish, and then don't really do anything. We had planned on starting to take down Christmas stuff today, but we never really got around to it. And now that it's raining tonight, I wish we had managed to do it today since taking down the stuff in the lawn tomorrow might get messy if it's still raining and / or wet.

Catherine and Ginger cooked some brownies for all of us today. And we took all the kids new Playmobil toys down to the basement. Which would have been not even worth mentioning except I ended up dropping the castle and ended up spending a lot of time rebuilding it.

Quinn ate some new foods today. The Wii as a bribe seems to be working pretty well. He actually requests new foods to try now. Today he ate an organic peach roll up (which seemed to be just a big gooey glob of peach stuff, but he seemed to like it and had no problems eating it) and later for dinner he tried stuffing. And while stuffing is new, we didn't really tell him it new. I told him it was just dried bread crumbled up and cooked. Since he knows he likes bread he tried it and ate it with no problems. After the fact he asked if that would count that towards being able to play the Wii and I pretended to go back and forth about it and finally told him it would be worth one or two games of the new Donkey Kong Barrel Blast game (which both the kids love, although Catherine today for the first time had issues when she was last among the four of us). The Donkey King Barrel Blast is similar I think to Mario Kart, but the controls and handling are very different. Anyway, a day where Quinn tries two new foods I think can be chalked up in the win column. I should mention he also tried one small piece of green bean at dinner, but he gagged pretty hard on that one. Catherine has picked up on this eat something new and play the Wii too. The problem with her is she has no problems eating new foods, and would be playing the Wii all the time if we let her.

And I finished watching that preview of the new Terminator / Sarah Conner show on Yahoo today. I liked it better after seeing the whole thing. The action level picks up significantly after the first 12 minutes or so.
