Tristan and Isolde

Another movie Ginger and I watched while on vacation was Tristan and Isolde. Evidently this story is based on a poem or legend or something. Luckily I had never heard of it, so I didn't know beforehand how the story was suppose to end. It's a period piece and honestly I don't remember the year the story is suppose to take place, but it's back in dark ages while England was being oppressed by Ireland. It took me a while to get over the fact that I was watching Harry Osborn (Tristan is played by James Franco who played Harry in the Spider-Man films). But once I got past that the story is quite enjoyable. Plus it has a couple of nicely choreographed fight scenes. Action and fighting for the guys, romance for the gals. The movie eventually moves out of the fighting scenes though and into the full blown love story. I really don't want to get into the plot of the movie since anything I say would give away some portion of the film. I will say there is not just one plot line and that the movie has several sub plots that interweave with the main love story to make the overall story that much more compelling. Overall I really liked it and wish more films like this were being made.

I guess you've also never heard of Gawain, Galahad, or any of the other blokes who sat around a circular conference furniture piece.
