Decompressing

So we spent most of the day trying to decompress as we get used to not being on vacation anymore. Since we've been gone for two weeks any food we had before we left has gone bad or mutated into something else, so a trip to the grocery store was in order. Ginger ran off to do that plus two or three other errands while I watched the kids. They were on edge by midday, a sure sign they didn't get enough sleep last night. I asked them if they wanted to go to the pool, but didn't have any takers. So we ended up going to a park for bit until Ginger was done with errands and could meet us for lunch at Ledo's Pizza.

When we went to the park Catherine took her scooter and Quinn took his lacrosse stuff. The tennis courts were vacant so we played on that for a while, with Catherine being the scooter ball girl and getting any balls that went by the wayside and returning them while riding her scooter. It was really hot and very humid out, so we weren't at the park overly long.

This shot is one of Catherine demonstrating pancake hair. I'm not sure whether it was her or Quinn that coined that phrase.

Other interesting bits. The San Diego Comic Con is underway. As I described last year, it's less and less about comics these days and more about Hollywood types scouting for movie treatment. One interesting thing was Dark Horse is going to be doing a comic that's available online on myspace called Dark Horse Presents. And it's got a story written by Joss Whedon in it. Although the story is just odd so far.
