As I expected I'm going to be making multiple visits to the hardware store. The good news is that I lucked out on buying the right piece for the toilet, so I was actually able to finish that one off. The sink upstairs though is another matter entirely. Turns out the replacement pieces I bought were chrome (the ones we had before were brass) and as such they've already become tarnished and stained. So that was a wash. Get it? Wash. Sink. No? Oh well, moving on.
