And it the vacation is over. We ended up not leaving until Saturday morning, even though we had originally planned on leaving Friday night to try and break the drive up across a couple of days. With the kids as exhausted as they were, we thought they would sleep in the car, but they didn't actually fall asleep until we were 20 minutes away from Grammy and Pop Pop's house in Richmond (at which point they woke up once we arrived and immediately started playing). And then later when we drove back home they didn't sleep at all. I really don't know how they were staying awake, but for Quinn I think it was because he spent most of the trip playing with his Game Boy Advance. Traffic on the trip home wasn't bad at all. We only slowed down once for a couple miles at the point on I64 where it goes from four lanes down to two.
