I Don't Even Really Like Football

So this morning we were still recovering from Ernesto coming through. That means it was drizzling most of the morning. This also prevented us from going outside and playing, so we were confined to indoor play (and once again, no pool post on Saturday, and I believe this was the last weekend the pool is open, so that well is dry until next year). Because of Ernesto, some friends of ours in the area had lost power so we invited them over for a while. Karen showed up with Amanda right around lunch. This was good because the kids love having a playmate around, and since we confined to indoors, it helped things a bit.

It just so happens Nana is up for the part of the weekend also. Quinn has been asking for a football helmet for a while now (every since he saw one in the store about a month or so ago). I decided if he was getting one, it wouldn't be from us buying it for him. So he really worked on Nana this morning, and she fell for it hook line and sinker and went out and bought him a football helmet (which it just so happens also came with a uniform). To make matters worse, it's a Redskins uniform. Okay, okay, I threw that last bit in there as a joke. To be honest I don't really have any strong feelings for or against the Redskins, but like I said in the title, I don't really follow football that much these days (I mean, if I'm not in a football pool, why bother following the games?).

Later in the day it cleared up enough that the kids were able to go outside for a bit. But everything was still kind of wet, so they couldn't really play on the grass or anything.

Enough of the chatting, bring on the pictures. A word of warning, since most of these shots were taken inside, even with the bounce flash you still get some fairly noticeable shadows in the background. Not much I can do about that, but hopefully it didn't completely detract from the pictures themselves.

Perhaps I threw the ball at him too hard

Catherine finally being still long enough to photograph

"Come on Ref, are you blind?"

Amanda and Catherine hit the vehicles

Catherine tries on the helmet (much to Quinn's distress)

Go Jets!!!

No, really, I don't follow football much either. Think I watched maybe 2 games all year last year, and one of them was VA Tech.

Quinn is quite the player...between trying to count 5 crackers w/ cheese as individual new items and talking his grandma into buying the football gear it is clear he knows how to wheel and deal...and at such a young age.
